So I’ve decided, to document my intern ‘journey’. (Yes, i am well aware it is a month and a half late), but as the title denotes : Better late than never…right?
I’m only just beginning to adapt to the whole environment and getting into the rhytm of things around here. I check my e-mail alot, i post alot of letters (I’m about to start on batch 4, consisting of 500 over letters to label, stamp, slot in the letters, and post. Joy.), and I do alot of running around, running errands for people.
It may sound sarcastic, but it’s not that bad. I like my job. I like doing this kind of work. I like the fact that I’m here to help and this purpose is recognized. I like that I don’t feel taken advantage of, or as many people outside call it, ‘exploited’. I like being given tasks to do. Example: I felt this very strange, yet happy sense of accomplishment when Dad received the letter that I, with my own two hands, had stamped, labelled, and slotted into the envelope, and I felt even happier realising that 699 others all over Singapore were doing the same.
And yes, I realise this is strange, but to each his own. And in this case, people have their own little things that make them happy.
And I’m looking forward to doing FOH for Family. I’m looking forward to watching the audience collect their programmes, and take our their tickets and head towards the show, and coming out with their different opinions. It’s quite an amazing thing.
I’m most especially looking forward to being part of Animal Farm. Now, THAT will be an experience..I can’t wait to be sitting there, part of the audience, watching the magic. And I kid you not, it is absolute MAGIC, that show is.
So I’m off to await the labels for the envelopes, and then the process begins.
Til tomorrow then.
